FORT MYERS, Fla. - North Florida volleyball opened up its final road stint of the regular season in Fort Myers, getting a fourth-straight double-digit kill outing from
Amy Burkhardt before dropping the contest at FGCU (23-4, 14-1 ASUN) Thursday, Nov. 14.
North Florida (12-18, 8-7 ASUN) currently sits in seventh place in the league standings, having locked up a spot in the postseason tournament set for next week back in Fort Myers.
UNF 0, FGCU 3 (11-25, 12-25, 21-25)
- Set 1: North Florida took a quick 2-0 lead, but a 5-0 FGCU spurt gave the Eagles the lead for good in the opening frame.
- Set 2: Burkhardt paced the Ospreys with four kills on .300 hitting, but FGCU's 16 kills were too much to overcome in a set that only featured two aces and one-combined block.
- Set 3: The third set was the most contested, with UNF leading for much of the session … the set featured four tie scores and two lead changes, but FGCU's late push in the frame brought the Eagles in front.
