NASHVILLE, Tenn. - North Florida men's soccer (4-5-3, 2-1-1) was resilient all night, getting two late goals from
Joaquin Acuna to propel UNF to a 2-1 victory and road comeback at Lipscomb (3-5-4, 1-2-1) on Saturday evening.
With the completed comeback against the defending league champs the Ospreys added its second conference win of the year. Acuna scored both of his goals after the 70th minute, bringing the Ospreys to their fourth brace of the year.
UNF earned its first win against Lipscomb since 2021 and its first road win against them since 2015. UNF is also even in the all-time series against Lipscomb.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lipscomb drew first blood in the 12th minute with a score off a corner kick to go up, 1-0.
- Jacob Harris had an opportunity with a one-on-one chance in open field, but his shot was saved by the Bison keeper.
- After back-and-forth play to start the second half, Acuna finally broke through with a nifty assist from Rentaro Miyakawa to equalize the game at 1-1.
- Shots on goal were taken by the Bison in the 75th and 77th minutes, but Luciano Natoli made the necessary saves to keep it tied.
- UNF flipped the field after a shot attempt from Lipscomb and Acuna put a beauty in the back of the net to go up 2-1 in the 78th minute.
- Great defense down the stretch from the Ospreys secured the one-score road victory against the ASUN defending champions.

QUICK KICKS
- First road win of the season and second conference victory under head coach Jamie Davies.
- Acuna recorded the fourth brace by an Osprey this year following Jaxon Reinhardt, Anton Khelil and David Perez.
- His brace puts the senior with David Perez as not only the top goal scorer on the team, but as co-scoring leaders in the conference with four goals each.
- Miyakawa recorded his third straight game with an assist and his fourth in five matches.
- He now shares the top spot on the team for assists with Luc Granitur with four on the season.
- Natoli returned as starting goalkeeper with three saves in the win, including a pair in the final minutes.
- UNF finished with 13 total shots after leading with seven at the half, as well as four shots on goal.
