JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF women's soccer striker
Jersi Dadah took full advantage of her second start this season, bookending Sunday's match with two goals as her brace helped lift North Florida (2-3-2) past Troy (5-3), 2-1, Sept. 10.
Dadah opened the scoring with a blistering rocket that flew past a leaping Troy keeper. She would score the eventual game winner in the 84th minute, hooking a roller past the outstretched arm of the Troy goalie.
North Florida handled the pace of the game all afternoon, outshooting the Trojans, 13-6, while also putting up three more shots on goal than the visitors.
Sunday's performance saw the first brace and multi-goal game for UNF in over two years. The last occurrence was Aug. 19, 2021 when
Kayla Bond put up two scores in a 4-1 rout of Western Carolina.
Gabby Daly made her first start and tallied her first assist of the season, while
Sophia Goetz aided on the second Dadah tally for her first assist.
Troy entered the match with some notable wins, having defeated Lipscomb, Kennesaw State and Queens this season.

Inside the Match
- First Half: UNF women's soccer provided the majority of the pressure in the first half, shown extremely early when Troy managed to escape from a dangerous chance for UNF in the box … a Paige McSwigan shot was blocked before Dadah committed a foul in pursuit of the rebound … roughly 10 minutes later, UNF found the back of the net thanks to Dadah's boot … Gabby Daly dribbled into space and found Dadah with room before she ripped a shot into the upper 90 from well outside the box … the score remained 1-0 in favor of UNF until the break, with Troy not having mustered many chances around goal.
- Second Half: The middle of the field saw the majority of the action for the first 20 minutes of the second session … North Florida found a golden chance in the 65th minute when Amanda Hartmann was pulled down in the box … Daly put the penalty kick on frame, but Troy's keeper got a glove on the shot to keep it, 1-0 … Chloe Lynch put two shots on frame that were smothered by Troy's keeper in the following minutes … Dadah provided what turned out to be the game winner in the 85th minute … Lynch flicked on a pass to Sophia Goetz as she found Dadah onside … Dadah quickly hooked a shot past a diving Rubie Kelley and into the back of the net … Troy managed to push it to a one-goal deficit again just minutes later … a shot off the crossbar was recovered by Gabrielle Chartier in the box … Chartier got just enough of the shot to have the ball roll over the line … UNF held on to possession and worked the rest of the clock down to earn the win.
