Resilience Resounds in Baseball’s Game-One Win at North Alabama, 7-6

Clements’ Hustle Key to Scoring Go-ahead Run, Adams Earns First Win

FLORENCE, Ala. - North Florida (23-23, 9-13 ASUN) erased two different deficits thanks to timely hitting and great hustle, while getting a gutsy outing from Peter Holden and Brandon Adams' first win in a 7-6 victory against North Alabama (9-34, 3-19 ASUN) Friday, May 5.

UNF entered the ninth inning locked in a 6-6 tie, but an infield single from Matthew Clements brought home the go-ahead run. Clements' hustle down the line was crucial in plating Cade Reich from third as he legged out the dribbler.

UNF fell behind early 5-2, but scored five runs in the final five innings to secure the win. Aidan Sweatt and Austin Brinling reached base a combined seven times and recorded three extra-base hits.

On the hill, Holden tied a season high with 7.1 innings worked, while Adams continued his impressive stretch on the hill with 1.2 scoreless frames.
