FLORENCE, Ala. - UNF men's tennis (12-5, 5-1 ASUN) was all business in a 7-0 win en route to a road-ASUN matchup at North Alabama (6-9, 2-4 ASUN) Sunday. This is UNF's sixth sweep of the season and second sweep in conference play.
The Ospreys started off strong in doubles play as
Bruno Vietri and
PJ Kotan earned a 6-4 win.
Andreas Scott and
Breno Marques took a 6-4 victory as well.
Jonas Hartenstein and Rodrigo Crepo secured a 6-3 win on the top court as UNF entered singles with 1-0 lead.
The momentum continued for the Ospreys as Crespo dominated in a 6-2, 6-0 win at the second position. Shortly after, Marques earned a powerful 6-1, 6-0 win to give the Ospreys a 3-0 lead. Hartenstein clinched the win for UNF in two sets with a seven-point tiebreaker, while Scott gave the Ospreys their fifth point after a three-set win. Kotan earned a win in three sets while Vietri completed the sweep for UNF in a 10-8 ten-point tiebreaker.
The Ospreys return to Jacksonville to host Eastern Kentucky Thursday, April 6 at 2 p.m. before concluding conference play Saturday, April 8 against Bellarmine.
