Softball Falls Late in Midweek to Florida International

Ospreys Permit Four Runs in the Seventh

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (21-20-1) took a two-run lead in the fifth inning against Florida International (19-22), but four runs allowed in the seventh resulted in a 5-3 loss on Wednesday afternoon at the UNF Softball Complex.

After facing a one-run deficit early, the Ospreys responded with an RBI triple from Chloe Culp to tie the game back up. Shannon Glover and Culp strung together a pair of RBI hits to go up 3-1, but a two-run RBI double in the seventh was all the Panthers needed to steal the game away.

Culp had a nice two-hit, two RBI day for her 11th game with multiple hits and ninth game with multiple RBIs this season. Styler Stockie also hit a season-high four strikeouts in two innings pitched in the circle.
