JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Early scoring and stellar pitching from
Izzy Kelly and
Skyler Stockie guided North Florida softball (11-6) to a midweek victory against Bethune-Cookman (2-18), 3-1, on Wednesday afternoon at the UNF Softball Complex.
After scoring two early runs in the bottom of the first inning, the Ospreys leaned on their pitching staff to complete the game with no earned runs allowed and only three hits given up.
Kayla Harper sent in
Mackenzie Woods in the fourth inning for the third run of the game to add insurance over the Wildcats.
UNF was slated to play a doubleheader against the Wildcats, but traveling issues limited them to play one game. UNF is 2-0 against B-CU this season as well after defeating them, 10-0, in the UNF/JU Invitational.
