JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida (4-2) dominated Charleston (1-5), 7-0, Saturday afternoon, bringing UNF to a 3-0 mark at home on the year.
In doubles play,
PJ Kotan and
Matt Carroll won for the second time in two days with a 6-2 score. The Ospreys were able to secure the doubles point as
Breno Marques and
Andreas Scott won, 6-4, in the third position. The third court was left unfinished.
UNF continued to battle as it came out strong in singles play as all six courts won the first session. Marques was the first to give the Ospreys a singles point with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the fifth position, followed by Scott securing a point for the team.
Rodrigo Crespo clinched the win for the Ospreys as he won 6-4, 6-2 in the second position. The momentum didn't stop after the clinch, as
PJ Kotan secured his first singles win of the season, 6-4, 6-4. Hartenstein won in two sets at the top slot with the only remaining court being Carroll's, who won, 6-2, in the second set to secure the sweep for the Ospreys.
The Ospreys will take almost a week and a half off before hosting Coastal Carolina Tuesday, March 7 at 12 p.m. at the UNF Tennis Complex.
