JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A back-and-forth game for North Florida women's basketball (6-18, 3-11 ASUN) didn't go its way against Jacksonville State (14-11, 7-7 ASUN), as they faced defeat against the Gamecocks, 68-61, on Thursday evening at UNF Arena.

In a game that saw 15 lead changes, the Ospreys fought until the end with each of the first three periods concluding as a one-possession game. Despite two double-digit scorers, UNF couldn't find offensive production late in the game to keep up with the Gamecocks in the fourth.

Brianna Livingston set a career-high in points with 18 total after she was honored with her senior night before the game. Lyric Swann also stuffed the score sheet with 19 points to go along with three rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

First Half: Livingston came out firing to start the game with a driving layup, followed by a score from Emma Broermann to go up 4-0...Elysa Wesolek came into the game off the bench with a layup and three-pointer for the Ospreys...Jaelyn Swann ended the first quarter with a buzzer-beating three down two to give UNF the lead after one...coming into the second quarter, J. Swann went back to her spot and nailed another one from downtown...her sister joined in on the three-point fun with a make from beyond the arc...Ospreys went on an 8-0 scoring run after a pair of threes from Helena Rafnsdottir and L. Swann, as well as a layup from Sarah Taub to secure a 35-33 lead going into the break.

Second Half: Livingston started the third quarter much like the first, as she scored the first seven points of the period for UNF...L. Swann went on to score the next 10 points in the third after Livingston's run, including two three-pointers that kept the Ospreys within a score of the Gamecocks through the period...in the fourth, Jax State scored six straight before L. Swann threw a half-court pass to Kaila Rougier for the score...L. Swann came back with a layup to keep it a five-point game midway through the final period...Livingston made a jumper with just over a minute left, but no other field goals were made for UNF afterwards in a 68-61 loss for their first of two home games this weekend.

• Broermann and Sarah Taub set career-highs in blocks with four each.
• Taub also set a career-high in playing time with 36 minutes total.
• L. Swann matched her career-high in blocks as well with two on the night.
• She also attempted a season-high nine threes for a third time this season, as well as her second time in three games.
