FROM THE JUMP - Intrastate Home Bout Against FAU

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball will be put to the test early in the season, as it hosts Florida Atlantic in an intrastate matchup on Monday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m., in the UNF Arena.

Monday's matchup will be broadcasted on ESPN+. Updates for the game will be made through live stats, as well as on Twitter at OspreyWBB and on Instagram at OspreysWBB.


FROM THE JUMP

  • Will be coming off their largest margin of victory during a home opener in D-I program history.
  • Looking to start the season with two wins in its first three games for the second time in three seasons.
  • Set to play last home game before an upcoming four-game road slate.
  • Four Ospreys are averaging double-digit points through the first two games of the 2023-24 season.
  • Freshman Alexa Washington leads the pack with 15.5 PPG after scoring 13 and 18 points against Florida and Trinity Baptist.
  • Preseason All-ASUN selection Lyric Swann bounced back with 18 points, shooting 8-for-13 against TBC on Thursday.
  • Tyra Brown and Emma Broermann both had double-doubles, as they both have combined for 29 rebounds total this season.
  • Jayla Adams leads the squad in minutes played as a graduate transfer, as she averages 25.5 MPG to go along with her 9.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG and 4.0 APG.


SCOUTING REPORT

  • FAU is coming off a 12-18 overall record in the 2022 season.
  • Starts this year 0-1 after losing on the road to Mercer this past Thursday.
  • This will be the Owls' second of two road games to start the season.
  • Aniya Hubbard was named to the AAC Preseason All-Conference Second Team.
  • She recorded 28 points and nine rebounds in the season-opening game against the Bears.
  • Jada Moore is another notable name after scoring 13 points with five rebounds.


AN OSPREY WIN AGAINST FAU WOULD...

- Give UNF back-to-back wins against the Owls for first time in program history.
- Be first back-to-back home victories for UNF since Feb. 9, 2022, against Bellarmine.
- Put UNF with two wins in first three games for the second time since 2019-20.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jazz Bond dropped 31 points, including 12 in the overtime period, to put the Ospreys (4-1) past FAU, 85-79, for their fourth straight win on Sunday morning.
