JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball (4-9, 1-2 ASUN) almost pulled off the fourth-quarter comeback after posting a 16-2 run, but came out just short in its conference home opener against Lipscomb (9-6, 3-0 ASUN), 69-63, on Saturday afternoon.
The Ospreys were down by 17 points entering the fourth quarter and faced a deficit as big as 21 points before they brought it back to a one-possession game with under two minutes left. They had opportunities late to complete the comeback at home, but the scoring run wasn't enough in the end against the Bison.
Emma Broermann played one of the best games of her career with a season-high 22 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, while also matching her career-high in blocks with three total. It's only the second game as an Osprey with over 20 points and 10 rebounds dating back to her sophomore season against Edward Waters.
