FORT MYERS, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis put together a complete effort on its first day of the fall season and first day at the Bedford Cup, with five Ospreys combining to go 10-2 over multiple singles and doubles draws.

The annual fall tournament known as the Bedford Cup features universities from the state of Florida, with this year's field featuring FAU, FGCU, FIU, Florida, Florida A&M, UNF, Stetson and USF.

All five Ospreys including Kendall Nash, Megan Forster, Jasmin Makela, Annabelle Davis and Isabel Oliveira earned at least one singles win. Davis, Oliveira, Nash and Makela also nabbed a doubles win in their only such contest.

For the graduate transfer, Forster, and the true freshman, Makela, it was their first win as Ospreys respectively. Forster, Makela and Davis all went 2-0 in the main singles draw, while Nash advanced to the quarterfinals of the blue draw.

UNF is guaranteed at least one student-athlete in the semifinals of the main singles bracket, as Forster will go up against Makela in the quarterfinals tomorrow. 

Oliveira played some grueling matches, going to a tiebreaker in three of her four full sets, while playing a 10-point tiebreaker in the consolation match that she won against FAU's Carla Galmiche. 

UNF combined to defeat opponents from USF, FAMU, FAU, FGCU and FIU. 

Day two continues tomorrow, with doubles play beginning at 8 a.m.
