Hartenstein Clinches in Tiebreaker at Court One

ATLANTA - Despite falling behind to Georgia State 2-0, UNF only budged to allow one more point as the Ospreys won 4-3, with Jonas Hartenstein earning the clincher in a three-set tiebreaker Friday, March. 4.

North Florida (7-4) picks up its fifth-straight win with the victory, while snapping Georgia State's own three-match winning streak. The Panthers (7-5) had defeated all of the three ASUN opponents they had faced earlier in the year, including Stetson, Kennesaw State and FGCU.

How it Happened
Georgia State won 6-3 at court three in doubles play, but the first two courts were a battle, with each spanning 37 minutes. The Panthers were able to clinch things with a 7-5 win at the top slot. Matt Carroll and Nilo Duarte salvaged a 7-5 win at the second slot.

Things unfolded in favor of Georgia State early into the singles portion of play. The Panthers quickly went up 2-0 at court five, but straight-set wins by Carroll and Jorge Nunez tied things up and opened a new window of opportunity for the Ospreys.

Despite dropping the first set, Duarte dug deep to give UNF a 3-2 lead, winning 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. PJ Kotan turned the tables on Roberts Grinvalds, winning the second set after dropping the first session, 6-2. Kotan was eventually ousted, 6-4, setting up Hartenstein and GSU's Andrei Duarte at the top slot.

Hartenstein won the first frame, 6-4, lost the second, 2-6 and won the deciding session 7-6 with all eyes on him.
