JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (25-7, 4-2) suffered just its second loss in 19 games after a five-run lead slipped away to Lipscomb (10-17, 1-2) on Sunday afternoon at the UNF Softball Complex.
The Ospreys had a 5-0 lead going into the fifth inning before a pair of errors allowed Lipscomb to rally together five straight runs to tie the game. The Bison were able to take a 7-6 lead into the bottom of the 11th and close the game out with a diving catch in center field.
It was the longest game played for the Ospreys since the 2017 season when they played 15 innings against Florida A&M in a 8-7 win. It was also the fourth consecutive game that a UNF hitter has recorded three hits or more with
Kayla McGory reaching that mark this afternoon.

Behind the Line Score
- UNF took an early lead for the third straight game against the Bison after McGory's single down the line brought
Kayla Harper home.
- The Ospreys struck again in the third inning when
Paige Pfent's double to right field scored McGory to make it a 2-0 lead.

Shannon Glover and
Brittany Sundermeier to go up four runs.
- McGory hit her fourth home run of the season taking the ball for a long drive to left center, giving the Ospreys a 5-0 lead in the fourth.
- A single and a throwing error resulted in a run for Lipscomb in the fifth, prompting
Halle Arends to come into the game with a 5-1 lead.
- With two outs in the inning, the Bison came up with three more runs before
Erin Kyle was brought in to end the inning with the bases loaded.
- Things were kept scoreless through four more full innings with dominant pitching from both sides entering extras.
- Once international tiebreaker rules were put into place, both teams scored with a runner starting on second in the 10th inning.
- In the 11th, the Bison singled through third base to go back up one run again to put pressure on the Ospreys.
- UNF sac-bunted at the bottom of the inning to put the runner on third, but she was thrown out the next play at home plate.
- A diving catch by Lipscomb in the outfield clinched the game for Bison to tie UNF their second loss of conference play.
