Softball Suffers Loss in Extras Against Lipscomb

UNF Plays 11 Innings For the First Time Since 2017

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (25-7, 4-2) suffered just its second loss in 19 games after a five-run lead slipped away to Lipscomb (10-17, 1-2) on Sunday afternoon at the UNF Softball Complex.

The Ospreys had a 5-0 lead going into the fifth inning before a pair of errors allowed Lipscomb to rally together five straight runs to tie the game. The Bison were able to take a 7-6 lead into the bottom of the 11th and close the game out with a diving catch in center field.

It was the longest game played for the Ospreys since the 2017 season when they played 15 innings against Florida A&M in a 8-7 win. It was also the fourth consecutive game that a UNF hitter has recorded three hits or more with Kayla McGory reaching that mark this afternoon.
