TAMPA, Fla. - In a match that began with singles play due to limited daylight, North Florida (1-3) men's tennis was edged in a road test against a tough USF (2-3) team, 4-1, Saturday, Feb. 5.
Doubles play was set to begin after singles if the match was tied up, 3-3. Things were concluded before doubles play began.
How it Happened
Jonas Hartenstein won quickly on court two in straight sets, giving UNF a 1-0 advantage.
USF won in straight sets on courts four and one, giving the Bulls a 2-1 lead. Despite
Nilo Duarte's first set advantage, Sergio Gomez Montesa won the next two frames allowing USF to take a 3-1 lead. USF clinched the match as
Bruno Vietri fell in three sets.
Jorge Nunez was tied one-set apiece before the match was left unfinished on court five.
There was no competition for the doubles play due to the delay of the match.
