Women’s Tennis Tripped Up in Singles Against FAU

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF's challenging non-conference schedule continued Saturday as the Ospreys (4-6) hosted FAU (4-6). Despite taking the doubles point in commanding fashion, the Owls stormed back to win five of six singles courts as North Florida dropped the match, 5-2, Feb. 26.

How it Happened
UNF's dynamic doubles duo of No. 13 ranked Kit Gulihur and Ana Paula Melilo won 6-1 at the top slot. Summer Yardley and Kendall Nash closed the point out with a 6-3 win at the third position.

FAU rallied, winning courts six, three, five and two in straight sets to take a 4-1 lead and clinch the match. No. 66-ranked Kit Gulihur salvaged a point at the top slot, winning 6-2, 1-6, 7-5. FAU added one more at singles position four as Isabel Oliveira was edged in a back-and-forth 10-point tiebreaker, 10-8.
