DeLAND, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball led early, was tied with Stetson heading into the fourth and had the advantage with only six minutes to go, but a streaking Hatters (18-11, 11-5 ASUN) team held off the Ospreys (12-16, 5-11 ASUN) down the stretch in a 59-47 loss in the regular season finale.
Despite the loss, North Florida retains position as the five seed in the ASUN East Division. UNF goes to ASUN West Division No. 4 Lipscomb Wednesday, March 2 for the ASUN Championship First Round. The winner advances to take on the number one overall seed in FGCU in the quarterfinals.

The forward is on the heels of another record, needing just nine more points to become the UNF DI-era record holder for career points.

Coach Gibbs' Comments
"This was a defensive battle and I loved how we defended and battled for 30 minutes of the game today. Stetson's defensive stamina and execution outlasted ours and they were able to make some big time plays in the 4th. We didn't make enough plays on either end of the floor in the last quarter and that was the difference in the game." -- Head Coach
Darrick Gibbs
