FORT MYERS, Fla. - UNF women's basketball (7-6, 1-0 ASUN) was in position to take (RV) FGCU (12-1, 1-0 ASUN) down to the wire, trailing by just six in the third quarter, but the host Eagles found their offensive rhythm in the fourth as the Ospreys came up short in the ASUN opener, 88-57, Wednesday, Jan. 5.

LIBERTY: The Flames are riding one their two long winning streaks this season, having won each of their last eight contests ... the Flames are receiving votes in both the AP and USA Today Top 25 polls ... Liberty is tied with NC State for the most wins in NCAA Division I women's basketball ... Liberty's defense has won them a lot of games this year ... Liberty leads the nation in field goal percentage defense, holding teams to 32.7 percent shooting ... on the other side of the coin, Mya Berkman is second in the nation in field goal percentage at 66.8 ... Liberty hasn't lost since falling by four to No. 23 FGCU Jan. 15.
FGCU: The Eagles are coming off a relatively stunning loss to Stetson last Saturday ... FGCU is still ranked in the top 25 in both polls ...
