JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The first of two days of a busy fall finale at the UNF Fall Invite saw North Florida secure seven wins between singles and doubles play, headlined by Megan Forster reaching the Flight D Singles Title match after wins against UNC Charlotte and Florida State Saturday, Nov. 12.

UNF is hosting an impressive field of teams representing the ASUN, ACC, AAC, Big Ten and Conference USA. Teams competing this Saturday and Sunday include UNF, Clemson, Florida State, Maryland, UNC Charlotte, USF and UCF.

UNF tallied three wins against Power Five opponents in singles play, with Kit Gulihur and Isabel Oliveira knocking off opponents from Maryland. En route to the Flight D Singles final, Forster knocked off Vic Allen of Florida State. 

Forster raced past her first foe, Emma Wilkins of Charlotte, downing the 49ers student-athlete after surrendering only two frames. The graduate transfer overcame a one-set deficit to defeat her opponent in three frames, winning a tiebreaker, 10-8. 

Gulihur won a singles match in the top flight backdraw bracket, defeating Selma Cadar of Maryland in similar fashion. Isabel Oliveira won a marathon quarterfinals meeting against Marta Perez Mur of Maryland, defeating her in three frames, two of which went to tiebreaker. 

The second and final day of the fall invite gets going tomorrow at 9 a.m.
