ATLANTA - An impressive run in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Regional Doubles Main Draw concluded for UNF's
Kit Gulihur and
Isabel Oliveira in the semifinals Sunday, Oct. 16 at Georgia Tech's Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
Gulihur and Oliveira had to go through the region's top seed in Georgia Tech's Kate Sharabura and Carol Lee, falling 6-4, 6-3 as the semifinals featured a best two-of-three sets format.
Despite Saturday's loss, Oliveira and Gulihur put together a stellar weekend, coming just shy of a shot to compete for a fall national title.
The UNF duo earned wins against two ranked pairs, picking up victories against Georgia, USF and UCF. UGA's pair was ranked third in the region, while UCF's was eighth.
The remaining competition schedule for UNF this fall features two home tournaments, including the UNF Hidden Duals Oct. 28-30 and the UNF Fall Invite Nov. 11-13.
