Unfaltering Defense Provides Point for Ospreys Against Liberty

UNF Slows Down Flames, Ospreys Turn in Third-Straight Clean Sheet

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - An unwavering UNF defense helped shut down the league's top-scoring offense as the Ospreys (4-6-3, 3-3-2 ASUN) earned a critical conference tally after a 0-0 draw against the Liberty Flames (11-3-3, 7-0-2 ASUN) from a sunny Hodges Stadium Sunday, Oct. 16.

North Florida has now turned in three-straight shutouts and has not permitted a goal in matches played at Hodges Stadium, posting a 2-0-1 mark in such contests this year. Over the past three meetings between UNF and Liberty at home dating back to 2019, UNF is now 2-0-1 and holds a 2-0 goal-scoring margin. North Florida won both of the previous meetings thanks to overtime goals from UNF great, Thais Reiss.

UNF got gritty efforts across the lineup, receiving full-90 minute outings from Averi Walraven, Allyna Thurston, Amanda Hartmann and Zara Siassi in defense of Sofia Miliancano in goal. The emerging keeper turned in four saves on the day to perverse her shutout streak.
