CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Behind 19 kills on .500 hitting from
Mahalia White,
Kailey McKnight's fourth-straight double-double and a history-making night for
Rocio Moro, North Florida volleyball (6-12, 4-3 ASUN) dispatched Queens (5-15, 0-7 ASUN) as the Ospreys swept the Royals to open a weekend on the road Friday, Oct. 14.
White made quite the return in her first match back since Sept. 30, committing just two attack errors while hitting .500 with 19 kills. McKnight has found her groove this past month as she reached a double-double for the fifth time on the year and for the fourth time in as many matches. The play of freshman setter
Savannah Cook setup both of those performances as Cook posted 47 assists in only three frames.
Oct. 14, 2022 went down as another historic day for Moro as her 23 digs lifted her to the UNF-career record for digs. The San Juan, P.R., native surpassed UNF great, Nicole Baran, who held the previous record with 1,929 digs. Moro now stands at 1,946 digs in 392 sets played.
North Florida had 55 kills while holding Queens to 36. As a team the Ospreys hit .353, their best mark in league play and highest total since hitting .420 against ETSU Aug. 27.
Maddie Boyd chipped in with an efficient night, hitting .467 with eight kills and a team-high four blocks.
UNF 3, Queens 0 (27-25, 25-21, 25-14)
