Late Game Miscues Loom Large in 5-4 Loss to Stetson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - In a series that had spotless defense through two games, late-game defensive miscues loomed large as the Ospreys (18-20, 11-7 ASUN) were clipped by Stetson, 5-4, in the series finale Sunday, May 9. The Ospreys still won the series, taking two of three.

The game saw three lead changes and three ties, with the Hatters (24-20, 10-8 ASUN) scoring the game-winning run in the top of the ninth thanks to an error, balk and pinch hit RBI single.

UNF finishes the ASUN regular season with the second seed in the ASUN South Division. North Florida is ahead of Jacksonville and Stetson and one game back of FGCU.

The Ospreys play one against Jacksonville and one with Stetson in what are considered non-conference affairs this upcoming weekend.

The Navy and Gray will host the best of a three-game ASUN Divisional series the weekend of May 21 against the Hatters.
