Ashley Goebel had three RBI doubles and
Brittany Sundermeier was perfect at the plate as the duo helped lead North Florida softball past FAU. The Owls then took the second game, 12-4 in six innings.

How it Happened
- North Florida (18-21) got on the board on a passed ball in the second.
- In the third, Shannon Glover hit a two-out RBI single to score Paige Pfent who walked. Glover moved on a wild pitch before coming around to score on Ashley Goebel's double for a 3-0 lead.
- Goebel recorded her second RBI double in the fifth before scoring on Brittany Sundermeier's hit to right field for a 5-0 advantage.
- The Owls (12-29) struck in the top of the sixth as a slow rolling hit to first allowed a runner from second to come around and score.
- Arends allowed two hits and then an Osprey error loaded the bases, but the defense settled in to get the last out and end any threat.

How it Happened
- FAU scored in the top of the second on an Osprey miscue.
- The Ospreys then answered back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame. Goebel walked, moved around on a sac bunt and went to third on an error before scoring on a passed ball. Abi Annett scored Sundermeier for the 2-1 lead.
- A double and a single from the Owls in the top of the third evened the score before Goebel had an RBI double to retake the lead.
- Goebel then scored on Sundermeier's single through the left side for a 4-2 advantage.
- It was the last of the home team scoring as FAU went on to score four runs in both the fourth and fifth and grabbed the run-rule win in the sixth.
OF NOTE
- Sundermeier was 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored along with a walk.
- Goebel had three doubles with three RBI and two runs scored. She was the lone Osprey with an extra-base hit.
- Halle Arends got the win in the opening game, going 5.0 innings with just two hits, one walk and six strikeouts.
- Pfent is now on a nine-game reached base streak, while Shannon Glover and Kayla Harper have reached base in five straight.
