HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team could convert in the first half and as they came out for the second half it became dangerously windy and the teams were sent back to the locker room.
- After an hour the teams returned to the pitch and the Ospreys turned on the pressure with three shots, two on target early in the frame.
- North Florida got its goal when an FGCU defender tried to clear the ball and it went backwards into the net for the 1-0 lead.
- FGCU had two good looks in the 69th minute, but Padraic Gilley and the Osprey defense deflected the pair of shots to end the threat.
- The Ospreys looked to have the game secured, but FGCU had other plans. A late foul in the box led to a penalty kick for the Eagles which Ethan Dudley successfully converted.
- Shortly into the first overtime, Bendeguz Burka had a shot sail just high and Bryson Smith had one go left. Gilley had to make one save in the first overtime.
- In the 106th minute, Gilley made a huge save to keep the game knotted and send it to a shootout.
- Both teams made the first shot, but the second Ospreys kick was blocked by the FGCU keeper. The Eagles converted their next three to advance.
