Season Highs Seal Season Sweep of Jacksonville

Volleyball Rallies to Down Jacksonville in Five Sets

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Despite a 2-1 deficit, UNF volleyball (8-8, 7-3 ASUN) overturned Jacksonville (2-11, 0-9 ASUN), 3-2, thanks to a series of season highs and scorching hot offense down the stretch.

North Florida is on an eight-match winning streak against the Dolphins. UNF is one game out of first place in the ASUN South Division, and fourth overall.

Among season highs, Rocio Moro posted 34 digs, Julianna Askew provided 52 assists and Solimar Cestero registered 19 kills. Gabby O'Connell also tied a season high with 18 kills to go with 18 digs. Askew also had a double-double after digging out a season-best 15.

Moro's 34 digs was one shy of the five-set school record for digs. Moro shares that record with Tara Taylor (Sunquist).

Wright's Words
"I'm proud of our resilience. We had grit and executed when our best was needed. I love how we played in the clutch. We keep growing and new people are stepping up. However, the tandem of Gabby and Soli and the rest of our attackers is tough to stop when we pass well. I thought our receive stepped up and our libero Rocio Moro was a phenom."
