Men’s Tennis Clipped at Coastal Carolina, 4-3

CONWAY, S.C. - UNF men's tennis (2-7) took the doubles point, but Coastal Carolina won four of the first five singles points as North Florida fell, 4-3, Wednesday, March 10. 

Rodrigo Crespo and Nilo Duarte won their fourth doubles match in five chances, and Federico Nani and PJ Kotan cruised to a 6-3 victory at the third slot for a UNF 1-0 lead after doubles. 

The Chanticleers (2-2) jumped out to a 3-1 lead after taking singles slots 6, 2 and 4 in that order. Matt Carroll cut the deficit to one with a 6-4, 7-5 victory against Gonzalo Achondo at third singles. 

CCU's Bastien Huon won 6-4, 6-4, at the top slot to clinch the match. Kotan got in the singles win column as well with a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) 10-point tiebreak victory after the match was clinched.
