Men’s Tennis Edged by South Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. - UNF men's tennis (2-4) won doubles and singles slots five and six, but losses at positions one through four cost the Ospreys in a 4-3 loss at South Alabama (5-4) Sunday, February 28. 

Dominik Barton and Matt Carroll dropped South Alabama's top doubles pair by a 7-5 score, clinching the opening point. Rodrigo Crespo and Nilo Duarte were the first to finish, winning 6-1 at third doubles. 

The Jaguars evened things by winning third singles, but Jonas Hartenstein earned his first singles win as an Osprey, 6-3, 6-2, for a 2-1 UNF lead. South Alabama won in straight sets at positions one, four and two to clinch the match. 

Joe Ellis downed Leon Pet'ko, 6-2, 7-5, at six singles after the match was clinched, his first singles win of the year.
