STATESBORO, Ga. - The North Florida women's tennis team downed Georgia Southern, 6-1, in the Osprey's first road match since March 7, 2020. 

Valentina Mariotto and Annabelle Davis struggled on court three against Georgia Southern's Paula Boixader and Sonja Keranen, losing 6-1. 

Constanza Gorches and Lucia Montano answered back in the two slot, downing Hannah Daniel and Elizabeth Goines, 6-2. Catherine Gulihur and Ana Paula Melilo earned the doubles point in a 6-4 win over Charlotte van Diemen and Sophie Wagemaker.

Gulihur kept her momentum and swept Wagemaker, 6-1, 6-1, on court two in her singles debut with the Ospreys. Melilo followed with a sweep in the three slot over Nadja Meier, 6-4, 6-2. 

Gorches claimed the match point for the Ospreys with a 6-3, 6-2, victory over van Diemen on court four. Montano took down Boixader in three sets in the one slot before Mariotto fell in three sets against Mila Hartig in the five slot. 

Summer Yardley closed out the match in a tiebreak, defeating Goines 7-5, 3-6, 12-10.

North Florida returns home Saturday, Feb. 6, to host USF.
