Women's Tennis Blanked by No. 7 Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - North Florida's win streak was snapped Friday afternoon by No. 7 Florida State. The Seminoles blanked the Ospreys, 4-0.  

Valentina Mariotto and partner Sean Lodzki lost on court three in doubles, 6-2, to Emmanuelle Salas and Andrea Garcia.

Catherine Gulihur and Ana Paula Melilo continued their hot streak in slot one in doubles. The pair edged Giulia Pairone and Nandini Das, 7-5, to improve to 4-0 on the year. 

Florida State claimed the doubles point on court two in a tiebreak. Lucia Montano and Constanza Gorches dropped the decision 7-6, (11-9). 

In singles, Valentina Mariotto was swept 6-2, 6-4, on court five by Andrea Garcia. In the four slot Petra Hule stretched the Seminoles lead 3-0, downing Gorches 6-1, 6-3. Pairone clinched the win for Florida State with a 6-3, 6-4, win over Montano on court one. 

The Ospreys are on the road Saturday, Feb. 13 for a match at Auburn.
