JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis travels for a pair of road matches Feb. 12-13. The Ospreys take on No. 7 Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla. Friday and travel to Auburn, Ala. for a match against Auburn Saturday. 

Against Our Opponent
Florida State leads the series 7-0 and Auburn leads the series 2-0.

Last Time Out
The Ospreys (3-0) downed South Florida (1-4) Monday, Feb. 8, 6-1, which marked North Florida's third win in the teams' 12 meetings. 

Taking Inventory
  • In singles, North Florida is 2-0 in slots one, two, three, four and six. 
  • The Ospreys are 2-0 in both the one and two slot in doubles.
  • Catherine Gulihur kept swept her opponent, 6-1, 6-1, on court two in her singles debut with the Ospreys against Georgia Southern. 
  • Lucia Montano was ranked 84th in the ITA Preseason Singles Rankings Jan. 13. and earned ASUN Player of the Week honors Feb. 3
  • In 2020 North Florida went 10-1, with their only loss at No.24 Florida before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The Ospreys are the five-time defending ASUN Tournament Champions after downing FGCU, 4-3, in the title match in 2019.
  • North Florida's roster features eight returners and two newcomers. Freshman Annabelle Davis joins the squad this year along with junior transfer Catherine Gulihur from Oklahoma State. 
  • Head coach Catherine Dunagan enters her second season as the head coach at UNF. Assistant coach Ana Roman enters her second year with the Ospreys as well. 
Florida State
  • Currently ranked No. 7 in ITA Women's DI Team Rankings
  • Had three student-athletes ranked in the ITA Preseason Singles Rankings, Jan. 13 (No. 27 Giulia Pairone, No. 92 Nandini Das, No. 106 Victoria Allen)
  • Two doubles pairs ranked in ITA Preseason Doubles Rankings, Jan. 13 (No. 7 Victoria Allen and Petra Hule, Tied-50 Emmanuel Salas and Giulia Pairone)
  • FSU (3-1) is coming off a 4-3, loss to No. 7 Georgia
  • Head coach Jennifer Hyde enters her 17th season with the Seminoles
  • Hyde holds a 252-158 (.623) record at FSU with 15 NCAA Tournament appearances

Auburn
  • Auburn (4-1) is coming off a 4-3 win at Clemson
  • Head coach Caroline Lilley enters her second season with the Tigers. She spent the previous four seasons at the University of Kansas where she helped the Jayhawks to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including the program's first-ever Big 12 Conference Championship in 2019.
  • The Tigers' roster is 10 deep, featuring six upperclassmen.
  • Sophomore Selin Ovunc was ranked 62nd in ITA Preseason Singles Rankings. 
  • Florida native Taylor Russo was ranked 99th in ITA Preseason Singles Rankings.
  • Russo and Ovunc ranked 11th in ITA Preseason Doubles Rankings.
