Preview: Road Trip to North Alabama on Tap

FLORENCE, Ala. - North Florida continues ASUN action as it travels to North Alabama for a pair of games. The Ospreys look to bounce back from a tough loss against Kennesaw State Sunday.


FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  • Jazz Bond earned the ASUN Player of the Week honor for the second week in a row after averaging two 25-point outings against Kennesaw State this past weekend; her sixth and seventh 20-point performances of the season.
  • North Florida has the second-most points of any league team during conference play with 451 and is also second in made three-pointers per game (9.2); UNF is ted for third in the ASUN standings.
  • Bond is just 12 points shy of scoring 1,000 points in a UNF uniform. The forward will become the first player since Destinee Smith (2011-2015) to record at least 1,000 points. 
  • Senior Rhetta Moore leads the ASUN in minutes played and has been making her senior season a great one. She is averaging 11.9 ppg and ranks second in single-season 3PT% (.389) in the UNF records.
  • UNF is averaging 73.7 points/game which is the most since the 1994-95 season and almost 10 ppg more than last year's team.
     

SCOUTING THE
OPPONENT
  • North Alabama (5-10, 4-2 ASUN) is coming off back-to-back wins against Jacksonville, winning by double-figures in both games. Its two losses in league play come against first-place Liberty.
  • The Lions are led by Jaila Roberts' 13.1 points/gm while Jaida Bond and Sakyia White each are averaging double-digits. In ASUN play, Bond - sister to Jazz Bond - is averaging a team-best 13.2. ppg.
  • White paces the team off the glass, just missing a double-double average, with 9.3 rebounds/gm.
  • UNA had a rough start to the season, grabbing just one non-conference win against Tarleton State who is transitioning to Division I.
