
Osprey Pair Earn ASUN Women's Cross Country All-Decade Accolades

ATLANTA, Ga. - Shelby Kittrell '13 and Eden Meyer '18 earned spots on the 2010-19 ASUN Women's Cross Country All-Decade Team, announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Kittrell, runner-up at the 2010 & 2012 ASUN Championships, collected three First Team All-Conference accolades in her career to go along with a second-team slot in 2011. Her performance in 2010 helped UNF earn its first of two ASUN Championship titles, while she also picked up the 2009 Freshman of the Year status when she finished fourth at the league meet.
Meyer, the 2016 & 2017 ASUN Runner of the Year, was a four-time First Team All-Conference runner for the Ospreys. She helped North Florida in 2017 to the ASUN Championship title for the second in program history as she bested the field by 44 seconds. Meyer reached the NCAA Championship in 2017 ending a five-year drought for the ASUN on the national stage. She was also tabbed ASUN Scholar-Athlete in 2016 and 2017 and is a three-time All-Academic Team member.
A total of 19 student-athletes were named to the list across eight programs. Lipscomb led the way with eight student-athletes named to the All-Decade Team followed by three from Jacksonville and two by Kennesaw State and North Florida.
North Florida is one of only two programs that have captured ASUN Championship titles over the past 10 years. Lipscomb leads with eight titles to the Ospreys' two, while eight student-athletes from seven different institutions have landed Runner of the Year status by winning the medalist honors. Four ASUN student-athletes advanced to compete as individuals at the NCAA Championship since 2010.
To be named to the All-Decade Team individuals must have competed for at least two years in the decade as an ASUN student-athlete. Individuals that obtained one of the following criteria were named to the team; Runner of the Year, three First Team All-Conference selections or multiple Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards. Individuals that obtained at least two of the following criteria were also named to the team; Freshman or Scholar-Athlete of the Year, three All-Conference selections, two First Team All-Conference selections.
