JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis (10-1) defeated Navy (16-3) in the team's first meeting Monday, 6-1, extending their home win streak to 16. 

Ana Paula Melilo and Lucia Montano defeated Katreina Corpuz and Meghana Komarraju, 6-1 to get the first win in doubles. Sean Lodzki and Valentina Mariotto clinched the doubles point, edging Miranda Deng and Amanda Cyr, 6-3.

Mariotto claimed court four, winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 against Komarraju. Montano stretched the Ospreys' lead to 3-0 against the Midshipmen, defeating Annalise Klopfer 6-2, 6-4. 

Constanza Gorches clinched the match point for North Florida on court three, downing Jilian Taggart 6-1, 6-2. Kendall Nash and Melilo earned the Ospreys' final two points on tiebreaks. Nash edged Samantha Choi 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6) and Melilo claimed court two against Kacey Moore 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-4).

North Florida women's tennis stays home for the next three matches, hosting ETSU first Saturday, March 14.
