Turning Point
A 19-4 run to start the third quarter ended up being the difference maker and put NJIT (4-19, 1-9 ASUN) in the lead where it remained for the game.
INSIDE THE GAME
- North Florida had 14-0 run to start the game before extending it to a 20-4 stretch to lead 20-6.
- NJIT then went on a 13-4 to close in to 24-19 before the Osprey pushed their lead back to 29-19 thanks to Emma Broermann and Green's three-point play.
- The home team then used a 23-6 stretch to take a 42-35 lead and it never looked back.
- In the third, NJIT outscored the Ospreys 19-8. UNF shot just 14 percent in the frame, going 1-for-7.
- The Highlanders extended their lead to 52-39 before Bond sparked a 12-4 run to bring the Ospreys within 56-51 with 1:14 left on the clock.
- Despite UNF outscoring the Highlanders 8-4 down the stretch it was not enough.
Osprey Fast Breaks
- UNF shot just 30 percent from long range. The Ospreys were 3-for-3 in the opening quarter before going 0-for-9 in the second and third quarters.
- For the second straight game, an opposing player grabbed 15 or more rebounds as Danielle Tunstall grabbed 15 boards to go with 20 points.
- NJIT capitalized on 15 turnovers with 24 points, while UNF had just 13 points off the hosts' 13 miscues.
What's Next
North Florida returns to Jacksonville for its next three games beginning with hosting North Alabama Saturday at 1 p.m. The Lions defeated the Ospreys 54-51 in the first meeting.
