Ospreys of the Game

Turning Point

Miami used a 12-2 run to close out the second quarter and create a gap that the Ospreys could not recover from as the Canes led, 39-20 at the half.

QUOTE FROM THE TOP

"This was tough! They were the more physical and aggressive team and that was something we couldn't overcome. They did a really good job of allowing us to get into an offensive rhythm" - head coach Darrick Gibbs

INSIDE THE GAME

  • North Florida took its lone lead of the game on an opening triple from Jazz Bond, but from there Miami took the game.
  • The Ospreys got to as close at 13-10 on a three-pointer from Marissa Mackins, but four straight turnovers led to a 7-0 run for the Canes and gave them a 22-13 lead after one.
  • In the second, UNF committed seven turnovers to help fuel at 12-2 run late in the quarter as the home team took a 39-20 lead into the break.
  • Out of the half, Miami used a 17-2 run in the third quarter to own a 40-point lead. North Florida went on a 6-2 spurt, but it was all the visitors could muster as they trailed 70-33 after three.
  • The fourth quarter was slow for both squads as the teams combined to score just 17 points in the final 10 minutes.
