Gandia-Rosa's Career-High Night Not Enough in Ospreys Loss at Lipscomb

The Short Story: Despite Ivan Gandia-Rosa's career-high 30 point effort and 13 three-pointers made, North Florida was unable to muster its fourth straight road win as the Ospreys fell 85-73 Saturday evening at Lipscomb.

- Ivan Gandia-Rosa scored a career best 30 points, going 10 of 17 from the floor including five three-pointers and a perfect 5-of-5 at the FT line
- Garrett Sams added 18 points as the the only other Osprey in double digits

NOTABLE MOMENTS
- Score seesawed over the opening minutes of play until back-to-back-to-back threes from Ezekiel Balogun, Carter Hendricksen and Ryan Burkhardt built a 5-point margin for the Ospreys
- UNF's lead would grow to six before a 9-0 run from Lipscomb created a four-point deficit
- Ivan Gandia-Rosa netted the last five points for the Ospreys en route to his 14-point effort in the first half but the Bisons held a 45-43 halftime advantage
- North Florida appeared to regain the momentum at the start of the second half, taking a 52-48 lead following a 9-3 spurt
- Ospreys would fall into an eight minute scoring drought that included missing 10 straight shots mixed in with five turnovers | Lipscomb capitalized on the slump as the Bisons scored 15 consecutive points for a 63-52 advantage
- UNF kept fighting and eventually mounted a charge that trimmed the gap to five points (75-70), with 2:48 showing on the clock, after a 12-4 surge
- Lipscomb connected on several free throws in the closing minutes to maintain the lead and earn the win

- Loss marked UNF's fourth in a row to Lipscomb
- Gandia Rosa became first Osprey to reach 30-point mark since Noah Horchler at NJIT last season (Feb. 9, 2019)
- UNF is now in a three-way tie atop the ASUN standings with Liberty and Stetson at 5-2

"Lipscomb seemed like the more passionate team. They looked like they understood what was at stake and their offensive rebounding in the first half really killed us. Have to give credit to (Ahsan) Asadullah because anytime you can score 23, have 18 rebounds and eight assists as a center really speaks volume. We did a poor job and I did a poor job. I've got to continue figuring out ways to help our guys be more successful in these situations. Thursday night is another game for first place and we just have to stay the course and not allow one loss to lead to two." -- Head coach Matthew Driscoll
