JACKSONVILLE - North Florida women's basketball hits the road to take on Lipscomb and return home to host Liberty in the annual Education Day.
1. SWOOP, THERE IT IS
For the first time since January 19, 2013, the Ospreys took down Jacksonville in a 70-64 victory. Janesha Green led the team with 22 points and the pair of Dasha Eremeeva and Jazz Bond posted double-doubles.
2. HONOR ROLL
After her double-double performance against JU, Bond was named ASUN Co-Player of the Week. The junior from Murfreesboro, Tennessee is the 10th Osprey in team history to earn the accolade and first since Tesh Hanson in 2016.
3. ON THE EDGE OF GLORY
Jackson is six points shy of becoming the second person in D1 history to record at least 800 points and 500 rebounds in their college basketball career.
4. ROAD TRIPPIN'
North Florida is looking for its fifth true road win, giving coach Darrick Gibbs three straight seasons with five wins on opponents home courts. This was the first season since 2004-2005 that the Ospreys played four neutral site games, going 2-2 in those contests.
5. GREEN DAY
After putting up 22 against Jacksonville, Green now ranks 10th in the ASUN in PPG with 13.4. Green leads the team with four 20-point games so far this season.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Lipscomb (5-14, 2-4 ASUN)
- Jalyn Holcomb (14.5 PPG) and Taylor Clark (13.7 PPG) lead the Bisons offense.
- Lipscomb is coming off a 65-57 win over NJIT Monday. Clark led the team with 19 points in the win.
- After scoring at least 15 points in her last two games, Holcolmb was awarded the ASUN Freshman of the Week for the third time this season.
- The Bisons are second in the ASUN with the fewest turnovers (15.5).
- North Florida swept the Bisons last season for the first time since 2012.
Liberty (10-8, 3-2 ASUN)
- Keyen Green ranks fourth in the ASUN in field goal percentage for the Flames shooting 57.6 percent.
- Liberty defeated Lipscomb Saturday, 64-60, with Green and Ashtyn Baker combining for 36 points.
- As a team, the Flames are second in the ASUN in rebounds with 41.1, fueled by Bridgette Rettstatt and Keyen Green who each average 7.7 rebounds a game.
- The Flames knocked UNF out of the ASUN tournament as Liberty won the semifinal game, 65-54. North Florida beat Liberty in Jacksonville just a few weeks earlier, 66-54.
