HOW IT HAPPENED
- North Florida dictated play in the opening 20 minutes of the contest, posting a 5-1 advantage in shot attempts

- UNF amassed a 10-4 shot advantage in first half including a 4-0 edge for SOG
- Junior Thais Reiss, who fired a game high four shots in the first 45 minutes, doubled the North Florida lead after burying a shot into the top right corner in the 56th minute | Reiss converted a well-played set of give-and-go passes with freshman Sydney Hauth to secure the insurance tally
- Osprey netminder Rhiannon Connelley recorded one stop in earning the shutout

QUICK KICKS
- Reiss finished the night with 7 shot attempts including four on frame
- UNF outshot the Chants 14-6 and the Osprey defense surrendered just one shot on goal
- Reiss and Hoffman were UNF's top two returning scorers
- Victory marked the first for new Osprey head coach Eric Faulconer | For Faulconer the win was the 241st of his 18 year coaching career but was the first in Division I play
- Win extended Osprey win streak to three versus Coastal Carolina and also marked the third consecutive shutout in the series
- 18 different players made their season debut for North Florida with seven players logging shot attempts

FAULCONER TALK
"I am very proud of our team tonight. It's never easy to win on the road and it's a great feeling to win our season opener. I thought we did a nice job of controlling the tempo of the match and were able to close the game out after getting the second goal. We will enjoy this tonight and turn our focus to a very good LaSalle team on Sunday." - Head coach Eric Faulconer

UP NEXT
North Florida continues its six-match road stretch to start the regular season on Sunday against LaSalle. The game will be played in Chapel Hill, N.C. at 12 p.m.
