Behind the Line Score
  • Two-out offense put UNF ahead in the first, 1-0. Tanner Murphy legged out an infield single before Tanner Clark reached on a fielding error by Brett Helmkamp at second base. The second infield single of the frame scored Murphy from third, as Wes Weeks rolled a sharp grounder into the hole that shortstop Justin Etts fielded before making a late throw to second in attempt to get Clark.
  • NJIT went up, 2-1, in the fourth. Helmkamp sliced a single down the right field line to open the fourth and scored on an RBI double from Matt Cocciadiferro that went off the wall on a bounce, tying the game, 1-1. Paul Franzoni eventually plated Cocciadiferro with a deep sac fly to the track in center, reeled in by Murphy.
  • An exciting fifth inning propelled UNF ahead, 4-2, in the fifth. Chris Berry hit a ringing double to right center to start the fifth. Jay Prather singled through the right side, putting runners at the corners. Prather took off from first two pitches later, swiping second. The throw down to second was wild, allowing Berry to score. Prather kept his foot on the gas, racing all the way around from second to slide just underneath the tag at home on a throw from Michael Anastasia in center. Tanner Murphy blasted a solo shot to left center on the next pitch.
  • NJIT got one back in the sixth. Helmkamp walked and Cocciadiffero was hit by a pitch, ushering Reitz out of the game in exchange for Hunter Bowling. A wild pitch moved both up 90 feet and an RBI groundout by Jacob Donnelly scored Helmkamp. Bowling stranded the tying run at third after getting a comebacker and a lineout to Berry at third.
  • The top of the order for the Ospreys came up with three consecutive hits, making it 5-3. Berry and Prather notched back-to-back singles and Murphy tagged an RBI single back up the box.
  • North Florida padded its lead with three runs on three hits and a walk in the eighth. Sequera singled, Berry walked and Prather drove in Sequera with an RBI single to right center on the seventh pitch of the at-bat. Murphy scored Berry on a sacrifice fly and Tanner Clark doubled to right center, plating Prather from first for the 8-3 lead.
  • Norkus nailed the door shut, spinning the final 2.1 innings after entering with the tying run at bat with two outs in the seventh.
