NEWARK, N.J. -  It came down to the final match for North Florida women's tennis and Constanza Gorches picked up the win to beat NJIT, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon.

Valentina Mariotto and Ana Paula Melilo grabbed the win in the No. 3 spot before NJIT (12-5, 1-2 ASUN) won in the No. 1 position. For the second straight match, it came down to the No. 2 position for the doubles point. Lucia Montano and Florencia Rossi pulled off the victory, 7-6 (7-4). 

UNF (12-6, 3-0 ASUN) went up 3-0 with wins in the No. 3 spot from Melilo and No. 4 position from Mariotto. NJIT got their two points with wins in the No. 2 and 1 spots and then evened the match with the 6-4, 6-1 victory at the No. 6 match. It came down to Constanza Gorches in the No. 5 spot and she pulled out a 6-4, 6-1 victory to keep UNF undefeated in ASUN action.

"NJIT is one of the toughest trips of the year as we go from playing outdoors to playing indoors in very hard, fast courts against a solid NJIT team. The girls rose to the challenge and we were able to come out on top. There are some spots we could have done better, but we will take the team win.
