Women's Tennis Continues ASUN Play against Stetson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -  In a rematch of the 2018 ASUN Tournament championship, North Florida women's tennis is looking to extend its winning streak as it gets back into ASUN action, hosting Stetson on Saturday at 11 a.m.

ABOUT YOUR OSPREYS
  • North Florida is riding seven straight wins after shutting out Savannah State and taking the win against UCONN last week.
  • Freshman Ana Paula Melilo is riding a six-match win streak with an 8-4 dual mark. She also has a team-best 16 total singles wins.
  • Rafaela Gomez and Constanza Gorches have each won five consecutive singles matches in their respective spots. While paired up in the No. 1 doubles spot, the duo have won nine in a row.
  • Lucia Montano and Florencia Rossi own seven victories in their last 10 doubles matches and have a 5-0 mark in the No. 2 spot. Their last loss came in a tight 7-6 match at FIU.

  • Stetson last beat the Ospreys on April 20, 2014 in Jacksonville.
  • North Florida has only lost to the Hatters two time on its home courts (2014, 2011).
  • During the regular season meeting, North Florida won 6-1, dropping just one single match.

  • Danel Ashirova and Lucie Renault lead the way for the Hatters in doubles with a record of 8-5 at the No. 1 spot.
  • The Hatters have wins against Georgia Southern, USC Upstate and Oakland, while falling short against Austin Peay, Air Force and UCF.
