Last Time Out:
FLORENECE, Ala. - Fifth-seeded North Florida collected a 55-53 victory on fourth-seeded North Alabama's home floor in the ASUN Women's Basketball Quarterfinals. The Ospreys were led by second-team all-conference selection,
Jazz Bond, who collected 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocks. Bond swatted two of the Lions' shots in the final 26 seconds. North Florida's defense held the Lions to just 15.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc - well below their 31 percent on the season.
Osprey Fast Breaks
• North Florida was the No. 5 seed in the 2013 tournament when it defeated USC Upstate in the quarterfinals before falling in the semifinals. UNF beat No. 3 Stetson last season as the No. 6 seed - the only other meeting against a No. 3 seed in program history.
• The Ospreys are 5-8 all-time in ASUN postseason.
• North Florida entered the postseason on a three-game win streak. It is the first time since 2003-04 that UNF closed out the regular season on a win stretch. The Ospreys are 6-1 in the last seven games and have outscored their opponents by 5.6 points per game.
•
Jazz Bond reached double-figures for the 19th time at North Alabama. The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native has scored in double-figures 18 of the 19 games she's played, averaging 16.0 ppg. The forward was named ASUN Newcomer of the Week four times this season.
• UNF has faced off with the same team three times in the same season on nine separate occasions in the Division I era. The Ospreys have only come back to beat a team that swept them during the regular season against Stetson (2018) and Upstate (2013). Both of the wins propelled them to the ASUN semifinals.
•
Ty Purifoy added to her UNF Division - I single-season record for assists as she now owns 156 on the year. The previous record was held by Kathy Addison, 1993-94 with 137.
• Nine ASUN victories marks the most under
Darrick Gibbs and is the highest total since 2011-12 (10).
An Osprey Win on Wednesday Would....
- Be the 357th win in program history
- Be head coach Gibbs' 46th win
- Be the second straight win against Liberty
- Tie for the fourth most wins in program history (UNF had 16 in 1999-00, 1997-98)
Looking for that Long Range
North Florida has now gone without a three-pointer for two straight games and 44:26 overall.
Janesha Green last hit one against Stetson on February 27.
Scouting Liberty
- Liberty earned the No. 3 seed by virtue of a 62-48 home win over North Alabama to close the regular season. In that game, senior KK Barbour scored a game-high and season-high 17 points on 5-of-5 shooting from three-point distance.
- Liberty enters the matchup on a four-game winning streak, closing the regular season with victories over Kennesaw State, NJIT and North Alabama, following a postseason win against Jacksonville.

- The Flames won the first meeting between the two teams, 69-53, as four players scored in double figures for the Flames, while just two for UNF.
