HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half Notes
- Ivan Gandia-Rosa and JT Escobar opened the game with back-to-back threes as part of the Osprey's 8-0 start
- UNF expanded the margin to 13-6 before the Hatters answered with their own 8-0 spurt to take a lead for the first time
- The squads traded turns with the lead for several possessions until a 7-2 run keyed by a Garrett Sams trey and assist on an Ezekiel Balogun layup
- Stetson continued to fight and trimmed the Osprey halftime margin to two, 31-29, at the break
- North Florida held the Hatters to 29% shooting in the frame (2-of-11 from 3-point line) but were slowed by nine turnovers

Second Half Notes
-  The Ospreys blitzed out of intermission outscoring the Hatters, 15-4, highlighted by a stretch of 12 straight points | The run pushed UNF's lead to double figures at 46-33 with 13:55 left to play
- Stetson again answered with a surge, netting the next nine points to pull within four
- Sams drilled a three-pointer to stem the scoring by the Hatters but Carter Hendricksen connected on back-to-back triples of his own minutes later to provide the Ospreys with some breathing room
- The Hatters closed to within five (64-59) with four minutes remaining, but a trey from Ryan Burkhardt, floater for Gandia-Rosa and Aminu layup pushed the lead to 12
- North Florida kept the margin in double digits the rest of the way to secure the win

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- North Florida upped its season best win streak to six games, marking the longest current streak in the ASUN
- UNF has now defeated Stetson five straight times and dropped the Hatters to 0-15 on the road this year
- Ospreys finish their ASUN ledger with a 9-7 record, the sixth consecutive year to finish at .500 or better in league play
- With the win and due to tiebreakers, North Florida has earned a Top 4 seed for the upcoming ASUN Tournament and will host a quarterfinal game on Monday at 7 p.m. against a to be determined opponent.

LAST WORD
"I couldn't be more proud of what these guys have done, how they have perservered and endured. The first half tonight was definitely not us and what we wanted to do. I thought we were flat and lethargic. I challenged Garrett in front of the team at halftime because I thought we wasn't the way he normally is. To our guys credit, in the second half we had just two turnovers and scored whenever and however we wanted to. Defensively we got stops on 12 of their first 14 possessions. Our guys have bought in and understand and are all in on what we want to do defensively. I am so proud of how they continue to just grow their confidence." -- Head coach Matthew Driscoll
