RALEIGH, N.C. - North Florida men's tennis (2-3) dropped its first bout with a top-25 opponent this season, falling 6-1 to No. 25 NC State (4-1) at the J.W. Isenhour Courts in Raleigh Saturday afternoon.

Federico Nani picked up his first win in dual competition as an Osprey, outlasting Ivan Saveljic at number-six singles, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (11-9). He was also in position to win at number-three doubles alongside freshman Dominik Barton, although a 5-4 match advantage was left unfinished after the Wolfpack claimed number one and two doubles.

Barton was tied 5-5 in the first set before Tadas Babelis pulled ahead to win 7-5, 6-4. The freshman drops to 11-5 on the season, possessing a team-high 11 individual victories.

Other Notes:

NC State improves to 3-1 in the series with UNF.
UNF hadn't played the Wolfpack since 1988.
NC State has already picked up two wins against Power 5 schools this spring. The Wolfpack swept Northwestern, 4-0, and later beat No. 12 Georgia, 4-3.

Up Next:
The Ospreys can look forward to coming back to Jacksonville for their home opener against Mercer Friday, February 8 at 5 p.m. They'll follow that up with a noon first serve against Buffalo Sunday.
