GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The North Florida softball team (0-3) held a potent Florida (6-0) offense to just three runs, but the Gators countered with strong pitching as No. 4 UF edged UNF, 3-1, Wednesday night from the Swamp.

Behind the Line Score
- Amanda Lorenz drew a one-out walk in the bottom of the first and was promptly plated by an RBI double from Kendyl Lindaman, giving UF a 1-0 lead.
- The Gators went station-to-station in the second to tack on another. Jordan Matthews singled, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt, advanced another 60 feet on a base knock and scored on a sacrifice fly from leadoff hitter Hannah Adams.
- Sydney Matzko came on in relief and held the Gators at bay until they scored their final run in the bottom of the fifth.
- Jaimie Hoover poked an infield single, swiped second and came around on an RBI double from Alex Voss.
- UNF got on the scoreboard in the next frame. Tiffany Lower coaxed a walk, stole second and touched home via an RBI single through the right side from Katelin Davis.
- Reliever Kelly Barnhill struck out the side in the seventh to earn her second save of 2019.
