JACKSONVILLE -  North Florida women's basketball opened its home slate with a bang as it broke the all-time scoring record with a 110-46 win against Warner on Saturday at UNF Arena.

Ospreys of the Game
Turning Point
North Florida went on a 15-0 run to end the first quarter and lead 29-8. From there, the Ospreys lead by more than 20 for the remainder of the game, eventually taking its biggest lead on a triple from Alexis Gordon.

SWOOP of the Game
Junior Rhetta Moore hit a three-pointer with 1:55 to play to give UNF a 107-44 lead. The 107 points are the most scored in program history, besting the 1997 team that dropped 105 on Mt. St. Vincent.

Osprey Fast Breaks
  • The 64-point margin is the biggest win under head coach Darrick Gibbs. It is also the biggest in the Division I era.
  • Six total Ospreys scored in double figures and the team is 8-1 under coach Gibbs when five or more players hit double digits.
  • The Ospreys dished out 23 helpers on 40 baskets to sit just two shy of the Division I record. It is the first time since November 18, 2016 that UNF had 20 or more assists.
  • Every player that saw the floor scored at least one point including freshman Emma Broermann who made her Osprey debut.
  • Victoria Patrick led the way with four steals in her first game as an Osprey.
  • The team pulled down 55 boards to place in a tie for seventh all-time. North Florida had 17 offensive rebounds, leading to 22 second chance points.
Thoughts from the Top
"This was a great team win and it's always exciting when everybody gets a chance to have an impact in the game. I loved the energy we played with and how unselfish we were. We were really attentive to the areas we wanted to focus on for the game so I am happy with how we responded to our opening day loss." -Head Coach Darrick Gibbs
