ORLANDO - Playing its second and third games in four days, North Florida women's basketball is set to play in the inaugrual ASUN/MAAC Challenge on Friday and Saturday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.
1. ROAD WARRIORS
The Ospreys are looking for their third straight win for the first time sine 2012. It would also be the first time in Division I history that UNF won three straight games away from UNF Arena. North Florida has only won back-to-back road or neutral games twice since 2014. Last season the Ospreys won at Stetson and then followed with a postseason win at North Alabama with a home game in between. In 2014, UNF beat UNCW and then grabbed a neutral win vs. Eastern Kentucky.
2. SWEET HOME ALABAMA
Senior
Janesha Green made the return to her home state worth it as she had her second career double-double with a career-high 21 points and 10 rebounds in the win at Alabama A&M. It was her first game with 20 points. She also went into the UNF single-game records to sit in a tie for seventh with 11 free throws made
3. HOLD ON FOR ONE MORE DAY
North Florida has only had double-digit turnovers in two games to tank 18th in the nation in miscues.
4.TAKE THE FREEBIES
The Ospreys are currently ranked 47th in the NCAA in free-throw percentage, shooting 75.7 percent from the line. North Florida was just four free throws short of a program record against Alabama A&M. The 26 made rank third in the program's D1 history and the attempts (38) are second in the record book.
