THOUGHTS FROM THE TOP
"I thought we had a slow start to the game in giving up the early goal. They came out and jumped on us, but I thought after the first 10-15 minutes, we had good spells and put them under pressure. Towards the end of the first half, we had an opportunity to cut the deficit in half but couldn't take advantage of the opportunity. We took a nice step forward tonight with ball control and moving the ball.
Torian Went came off the bench and changed for the game for us, giving us some momentum. In the second half, we came out better and were able to apply some pressure on them. I give Denver credit, they are No. 6 for a reason and they are the best team we face this year and their scorer the best player we face.
Shane Nicholson and
Nick Lodovico had a good game, stepping their game up. Our guys saw what the next level is like and I thought we hung with them in phases. Giving up early goals and the mistakes we are making is really putting us in bad spots in these games. We got better with possession tonight and our young group keeps getting better." – Head coach
Derek Marinatos.
