Ospreys Comeback To Down NJIT

Union, N.J. – The North Florida Baseball team came back from down 9-0 after two to defeat NJIT 11-9 on Friday at Jim Hynes Stadium in ASUN play. With the win, UNF secures the number four seed in next week's ASUN Tournament to be held at Harmon Stadium. 

LEADING OFF
- The Ospreys had five hits in the contest while drawing 13 free passes from NJIT led by Dalton Board and Tanner Murphy with three apiece.
- Mac Wilson's third inning three run homer was his first in a UNF uniform and started the offense for North Florida. 
- Junior Ethan Michaelis came out of the bullpen in the second and struck out five while only allowing two runs in 4.2 IP as UNF began it's comeback.
- The reigning ASUN Pitcher of the Week Brad Deppermann came into pitch over the final three innings and struck out four to pick up his fifth save of the season.
- Wilson's homer in the third extended his reached base streak to 13 games in a row which is a team-high. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the second, NJIT scored nine times to take a 9-0 lead.
- Blake Voyles started the offense with a fielder's choice to score Abraham Sequera and make it 9-1.
- Wilson crushed a three run homer to right field and made it 9-4 Highlanders. 
- In the next inning UNF continued the offense with Dalton Board reaching on a fielder's choice and a pair of runs came into score after a NJIT error. Voyles RBI groundout made it 9-7.
- Ospreys added a run on a NJIT wild pitch in the sixth to make it 9-8.
- Chris Matthias with an RBI double in the seventh to tie the game at nine apiece.
- In the seventh, Chris Berry picked up a sac fly to left to give UNF a 10-9 lead and Murphy followed quickly by adding an RBI double to make it 11-9. 

 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Ospreys now prepare for the 2018 ASUN Championship beginning on Wednesday against a TBD opponent at Harmon Stadium.
